Short Bio
Virginia Leo is a Game Audio Generalist, Composer, Sound Designer, and Pianist/Vocalist specializing in audio for video games, with a focus on indie development. She is the Audio Lead on The Baby in Yellow by Team Terrible, a viral indie horror game with over 300 million downloads worldwide. Additional credits include the music for the Wobbly Life: Space Update, a multiplayer sandbox game with over 6 million players worldwide. Her music has been performed by ensembles including the Gateway Chamber Orchestra, Valley Symphony Orchestra, Density512, UNC Symphony Orchestra, and APSU Symphony Orchestra. Alongside development work, Virginia is active in the game audio community through speaking, judging, and mentorship. She is a mentor with Always Supporting the Games Community (ASGC), and has appeared at PAX, SXSW, IGDA, ASMAC, and Airwiggles AirCon, as well as giving guest lectures at Berklee College of Music, UNC, Texas A&M, and APSU.

Virginia Leo is a Game Audio Generalist, Composer, Sound Designer, and Pianist/Vocalist specializing in audio for video games, with a focus on indie development. She works across music, sound, implementation, and audio direction, with a hands-on approach to integrating audio into the development process. Born in Rome, Italy, she grew up in Wales, UK, and is now based in Texas, USA.
She is the Audio Lead on The Baby in Yellow by Team Terrible, a viral indie horror game with over 300 million downloads worldwide. In this role, she leads the majority of ongoing audio development in Unreal Engine, including music composition, sound design, VO editing and implementation. Her workflow focuses on tight integration between audio systems and player interaction. Additional credits include composing the music for the Wobbly Life: Space Update, a physics-based multiplayer sandbox game with over 6 million players worldwide.
Her work has received competitive recognition, including 3rd place in Audio out of more than 2,400 entries for Ludum Dare 51 and selection as one of five recipients of the Stan LePard Memorial GDC Scholarship in 2023. Virginia also served as sole audio designer on a VR project developed under StoryTrails, nominated for the 2023 SXSW Innovation Awards, where she delivered full audio direction and implementation. Her music has been performed by ensembles including the Gateway Chamber Orchestra, Valley Symphony Orchestra, Density512, UNC Symphony Orchestra, and APSU Symphony Orchestra.
Alongside development work, Virginia is active in the game audio community through speaking, judging, and mentorship. She is a mentor with Always Supporting the Games Community (ASGC), supporting emerging talent and contributing to a more connected and supportive games community. She has given guest lectures at Berklee College of Music, UNC, Texas A&M, and APSU, and has appeared at PAX, SXSW, IGDA, ASMAC, Airwiggles AirCon, and in the Global Game Jam Mentor Spotlight 2025. In 2026, she organized and led the first Game Audio Boston audio jam, a week-long event focused on music, sound design, implementation, and experimentation for game audio creators.
