Game Dev Report: Episode 1
I found out about the Indie Game Clinic when they posted on the Indie Game Devs Facebook group a while ago looking for streamers and content creators. Thanks to them, I'm starting a new series of livestreams on my YouTube Channel called "Game Dev Report" where I'll be playing and giving feedback on work-in-progress games submitted by indie developers. This is my way of showing appreciation to the indie game community for giving me a career I'm fortunate enough to enjoy full

Spark: Hero Tactics - Voiceover
It's my first time working in voiceover for games! Unexpectedly, I was asked to try out voice acting for a few characters including Chira, Alessandra, and Morogan from Spark: Hero Tactics, and they accepted me to voice Alessandra, The Resilient ⚔️ I received the script and the Character Direction of Alessandra was "Strong, Leader, Commanding, Tough, Brave" so I imagined how she would sound like from those keywords and gave her a personality. I voiced various lines during unlo

Power Up: Across the Nation
I'm so thrilled to share that the press release for Power Up: The Art of Video Game Music has seen an incredible response! After being distributed via a national wire service, it has been picked up by over 270 media outlets across the country. "While these listings don’t necessarily translate directly into ticket reservations, they significantly amplify the conversation around the event and the broader connection between classical and orchestral music and the gaming industr

GDC² - Official SXSW Event
I've been invited by the Electronic Game Developers Society to present a panel at GDC² this weekend at SXSW. I'll be doing a demonstration of game audio, creating sound assets, and implementing them into Unreal Engine live with audience participation! 12pm on March 8th at Gates-Dell Complex 2.216 Hosted by the Electronic Game Developers Society (EGaDS!), GDC² brings the Game Developers Conference experience to Austin. This year, it’s officially part of SXSW, making it bigger

Bigmode Game Jam 2025
First time participating in the Bigmode Game Jam! It ran from January 24th 2025 to February 3rd 2025 with 830 entries! The theme was "Power" so we made a game called Fugue which came in 8th place for "Originality" Fugue is about playing 2 split-screen games simultaneously whilst multitasking! The left screen displays a dark reality - you want to play your Game Boy in an apocalyptic future where there is no power. In order to get power, you must pedal a stationary bike, which

"As we gear up for Power Up: The Art of Video Game Music at SXSW, we want to introduce you to the incredible composers behind the music you'll hear live. First up: Virginia Leo!" "From eerie atmospheres to pulse-sounding beats, Virginia Leo brings video game worlds to life through sound. For the first time The Baby In Yellow will be performed live by chamber orchestra Density512 , the event will be hosted by KMFA 89.5 Austin's Classical Music Radio Station and it's happening during SXSW! VVGO Fan Arrangement
Today I received a lovely fan email from Stephen, a young music student who is also a big fan of The Baby In Yellow soundtrack! He has been diligently working on an arrangement of "The Mirrored House" alongside VVGO (Virtual Video Game Orchestra) and it just got released today as part VVGO's eleventh mixtape which challenged its members to come up with arrangements of spooky video game music tunes! Enjoy VVGhosts and thank you Stephen and VVGO for arranging and performing my

2024 Recap!
Became a permanent resident in the USA! Worked on 4 different video game projects! Met Team Terrible after working together since 2021! Made tons of new friends in Austin TX! I got my diver's license! Was a panellist at PAX West and IGDA Austin! Released The Baby In Yellow Dark Whispers update! Judged at the Game Worlds Camp! The Cursed House - Piano Tutorial
It's nearly Halloween, which means a new piano tutorial for one of the spookiest soundtracks from The Baby In Yellow... The Cursed House! This is one of the newest soundtracks that got introduced with the Dark Whispers update, and I've been getting requests for another piano tutorial since my previous ones made over 10,000 views on YouTube!

The Sims 2 DS & GBA Anniversary
The Sims 2 for GBA and Nintendo DS was released this day, October 25th, in 2005! These were some of my favourite games growing up! They were also vastly different from the PC versions of The Sims because they had a linear narrative with obscure plots, dark humour, strange characters, and a generally eerie atmosphere but most importantly, I remember the audio had a profound effect on lil 8 year old me! I had the absolute pleasure of meeting local Austin Game Audio professional

IGDA Austin Panel
I'll be on a panel with IGDA Austin next week ! IGDA is back this month with a panel discussion! As we get closer to the end of another year, we like to look for new voices to discuss finding success in our industry. How has the Austin scene evolved? Where are we now? What do we think game developers have to look forward to, and how do we keep our finger on the pulse? Join us the University Hills Library branch in Conference Ro om #2 on October 19th from 2-4pm as a skilled gr

Ludum Dare 56
I completed another game jam with Team Terrible! The theme was "Tiny Creatures" so we created a zen village builder with of course... tiny creatures! Unfortunately, we didn't complete the game in time so it's unfinished but we still had so much fun making it! Critical Mass is about growing a little village next to a temple and when you reach population targets you call a mass, everyone goes to the temple and you get rewarded with new technologies! When you reach the final (cr

Birthday Fundraiser Livestream
For my birthday, I'll be livestreaming a tour of my island on Animal Crossing New Horizons, one of my favourite games! I'll also be fundraising for Extra Life, so if you can, please donate to this incredible community that has helped raise over $120 million USD to Change Kids' Health to Change the Future! 🥳 ► Donate HERE: https://www.extra-life.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=donorDrive.participant&participantID=531463 ► Raising Money For: https://www.extra-life.org/ "Extra Life i

Rebranding New Cat Piano
I've rebranded my YouTube channel, social media, and my official website to use this wonderful new artwork created by Xinru Liu. We've expanded the cat piano and made it even longer than before, as well as an additional piece that feels more dynamic with the cats transforming into keys! The cat piano was an idea inspired by a random photo I took of my tuxedo cat sitting (very cutely) above a keyboard. I also took inspiration from one of my favourite games, Persona 5, for the

My Studio Specs
Recently, I've had some questions about my Home Studio Setup! I've never made a post dedicated to tech and tools, but I thought I'd share my specs to give an insight into what I use for work. My studio is mainly used to work in either Unreal Engine 5 for game development/audio implementation or Ableton Live 12 Suite for music composition/sound design. I also do all my livestreaming from here and occasionally game on Steam, so if I'm not working on a video game, I'm almost cer

PAX West 2024
Last week on the 31st of August I flew from Austin to Seattle! It's my second time going to PAX West and being on the panel "Let's Make a Video Game: Live on Stage" however, this time I wasn't only Composer but I was also the Sound Designer! It was challenging to say the least managing both aspects of audio in a chaotic but extremely fun 1 hour game jam! Surprisingly the game turned out pretty well this year, we actually finished creating the game on time and I enjoyed record

The Baby In Yellow OST
The Baby In Yellow: Official Soundtrack is finally out now on my YouTube channel 💛 This playlist contains all the soundtracks I've worked on with Team Terrible since 2021 but they have been remastered. I've also uploaded the new soundtracks from the recent Dark Whispers update that just came out on the 29th of August! It's been a hell of a ride working on this game for the past few years, and this soundtrack release means a lot to me. Giving the fans a platform to finally li
