Nordic Game Jam 2021
This year the Nordic Game Jam was all online. The theme was 'pending' and I worked on the music for Cat-A-Roomba: Alone At Home. You play as a good cat that just wants to clean his house whilst his owner has gone out. Unfortunately, the Roomba is very old and he does not see properly where he is going so you need to give him some guidance. Make sure the house is clean for when the owner comes back and don't break anything! CREDITS Anahid At Virginia Leo Greg Greene Kristinn B

Showreel Comparison 2018 - 2021
The following video shows a comparison between my first showreel made in 2018 and my latest showreel made in 2021. I think it's important to document your development in order to see how far you've come and also to show everyone the progress you've made. However, there is always room for improvement and the journey is never really over, there is more to learn every single day. Admittedly, I don't often sit back and objectively look at where I am now but I think I can say the

Blind Drive - Beta Tester
Jul 29, 2019 I beta tested for 'Blind Drive' created by Lo-Fi People. I really enjoyed playing it not only because of its intuitive gameplay and quirky narrative but I was also able to appreciate the fact that the game is purely based on audio! I'm very proud to have been a part of it and it's the first time my name has appeared on the credits of a game. Blind Drive is an audio based arcade comedy-thriller - coming March 10th on Steam, iOS and Android! You’re blindfolded and

Global Game Jam 2021
This year the Global Game Jam was all online! I joined the Copenhagen GGJam Bunker Jam Site and worked on Hitchhiking Vikings! The whole crew is overboard and adrift in rough monster infested seas. Hurry up and find them all! Every time you pick up a lost crew member, they will add their voice to the chorus of the original Viking themed sea shanty! Control the rowers on each side of your long ship by rotating the analogue sticks. Rotating the left analogue stick will make the

Film Scores To Help You Focus In Lockdown
Jan 18, 2021 dBs The Sound & Music Institute recently released an article about film scores. I was asked by them to give my own recommendations, I chose Homestead from The Good Dinosaur by Mychael Danna and Jeff Danna. “I choose this score because it's about home and family. I think these are two major themes which are playing a big role during this current global pandemic. We have all experienced what it is like to be stuck at home and I think this has made people think abou

Interactive Music in Virtual Reality
Magic Music is a VR interactive music experience designed to relax and give everyone the opportunity to feel like a musician! There are multiple colourful cubes hidden around the island. Each cube relates to an instrument and by combining them together they create a song. You can pick and choose which instruments you want and place the cubes wherever you want to create a 3D spatial mix. I created the game by myself with Unity Game Engine and the Oculus Quest 2 VR Headset. Thi

Fuse Jam #4 - Random Access Memories
Dec 13, 2020 Social media has poisoned his brain. Every night he stays up on his phone chatting and sending emojis but now his addiction has a consequence. Extreme insomnia has led him to not sleep in a very long time, visual and auditory hallucinations haunt him at night. The only way to survive in this house of insanity is to stay near the light. Keep your candle lit, don’t stray into the darkness and avoid the ghosts! Insomnia was created in a week for Fuse Jam 2020 by: Ow

FMOD Middleware Presentation (FREE PDF)
I was asked by my university to give a presentation as a student intern about the FMOD middleware project I created with Viking Village in Unity. I specifically mentioned the importance of project organisation. I also talked about composition prior to importing it into middleware and how to make musical transitions from one piece to another as fluid as possible. Feel free to download my presentation, it's free knowledge!

Peregrine Coast - Documentary by Andrew Salter
I worked on the music for this new documentary about Peregrine Falcons! I'm super excited about this project, I absolutely love wildlife documentaries, it's been so great to have an opportunity like this. I'm so passionate about wildlife and would love to work on more documentaries like this in the future. I think everyone has a duty to look after all life on the planet we share and my way of helping this situation as a musician is to inspire people through the language of mu

Magenta Studio - Machine Learning
This piece was created using Magenta Studio. It's a plugin which uses machine learning to generate MIDI, all the input I had in the composition personally was to give the MIDI a sound and an arrangement, the rest is entirely based on the machine. Magenta Studio is a collection of music plugins built on Magenta’s open source tools and models. They use cutting-edge machine learning techniques for music generation. Global Game Jam 2020
I had an amazing time at the Global Game Jam! The Bristol VR Lab kindly hosted the event this year and the theme was 'repair' so my team came up with a sort of repair Frankenstein's limbs in a funny physics 2D side scroller game where you have to walk your fantastic creature out of the hospital doors. We won best overall game and I got a winners mug! Play Now! https://globalgamejam.org/2020/games/franks-anatomy-2 CREDITS Alexander Birke - Code Greg Giddens - Code Peter Willin
